Cheats for Stronghold Crusader
In the main menu hold down the shift and alt keys, then press a. Now when in the game you can use the following key combination:
alt, b: This is for extra soldiers.
alt, c: This unlocks all missions.
alt, d: Debug mode.
alt, f: Makes any purchases or upgrades free.
alt, g: Destroys the main stronghold.
alt, k: You can build anything without resources.
alt, P: This will increase the level of your character.
alt, q: Engages time compression.
alt, s: Time shift.
alt, x: This will add one thousand to your money and one hundred to your popularity.
alt, z: The selected enemy will be destroyed.
It is possible to record your own taunts for the game. It is important to realize before you do this that once the original taunts have been recorded over you cannot get them back without reinstalling the game. You also obviously need a microphone to do this.
Go to the folder on your computer where stronghold crusader is installed. Click into the files, then on fx, then on speech. The file insult1corresponds to f1 key and so on. Right click on the insult you want to record over and click record. A sound recorder will come up, record your new taunt and press the stop button. Close the box and when asked to save changes made to the file click yes.
All of the speech files can be changed in this way.
Trap enemies in their castles
For this to work your enemy will need to have their keep enclosed. Surround the castle so that they are preparing for a siege. Put a small field unit such as an ox tether right outside their gatehouse. Immeadiately put it to sleep. Enemy troops will attempt to destroy but since it’s asleep they won’t be able to and will stay trapped inside.
Any buildings your enemy has outside of their castle will be demolished since the workers will not be able to get back inside the castle. The gatehouse will also crumble eventually. Soon the peasants will leave because there is no food in the castle. The troops will now be trapped in the castle. Now you can wait to build your army up before attacking.
Peasants
This is a good cheat if you want extra peasants quickly or if you don’t want to have to wait for them to fill up your campfire again. This will allow you to get more than the limit of twenty four at the campfire. Put your quarries and ox tethers to sleep. This will allow you to get more swordsmen or other troops. After this you can turn them back on and they will go back to work.
Cheap Archers
For cheaper archers instead of getting them from the mercenary post you can buy bows and make archers from your barracks. They will have the same defence and attack rate, movement speed and range as archers.
Secretly pause game
Go to the market or mercenary post you can pause the game by pressing p. You can continue shopping while the game is paused so as not to lose any time.
Ghosts
If you buy a shrine you will be able to see the ghost of a decapitated lord. You can only get one ghost for each castle.
Have more than two workers at the same work building
To get more than one worker at a work station first assign a worker a task and wait a while, then click the sleep button twice quickly, there should now be two worker there. In some places like the woodcutting hut and ox tether you can get 3 or 4 workers. In some places like the dairy farm having more peasants will not improve efficiency.
Set fire to an enemies castle
- If an enemy has building outside the castle you can build up twenty-five to fifty slaves and set fire to the outside walls, eventually it will spread to the inside of the castle. This is a very effective if the enemy has many building close together.
- Some kinds of enemies will make slaves that burn things down. Place some ox tethers inside their castle and the slave will burn them down. This normally works with arab enemies.
Long-term survival
Early in the game it’s best to get as many quarries as possible. This is important for games that go on a long time as stone is the only resource that will never run out. You can sell the stone for anything you need like food, weapons or wood.
Food production
It is a better approach to stock inns as these are easier to build and manage than food. Ale also lasts longer. With the space you will save you can build wheat fields and flour mills. You can then make bread o
